did i do the best

with the year given to me

this clocks pendulum

rewinds that time in my mind

knowing we missed our season

57

thoughts frozen in time

this challenge of being still

in all our moments

56

possibilities
disappearing into dreams
an exquisite extreme

of these castles in my clouds

only the morning can steal

55

In filed memories of Christmas past
are recollections of an unanswered wish
of lost opportunities of a missed kiss
under mistletoe held in silenced stillness
mirrored spheres of silver and gold
reflect a fire where stories were never told
of affirmations until we’re grey and old
and adorning the bridge in between
crimson ribbons on powdered evergreen

under shooting stars that will never be seen

and as my heart begs for its rewrites

snow is falling on these twinkling lights

time is calling on my silent nights

and you’re not here fills each Christmas past

54

can your last first kiss

have my name written on it

can you stay in mine

if I color in your lines

and if I say I love you

it means forever this time
