Can a day go by without answers
Does everything have to be figured out today right here – right now
Can my nights be free of these in my dreams
Can the stars just shine and say I’ll be fine
Does everything have to be solved right here – right now
Can I just know someday I’ll find my answers
Can I just wake and know my life is mine
Why am I asking questions when I know the answers, can’t I just feel for this life
Wanting answers for this soul
that are not yours to reply
But I’m choosing truths that are so shallow
Whose meanings are trying to reach so high
Wanting your time to borrow
To try and fill my bones
But I’m chasing a shadow that feels so hollow
Who’s looking for its home
Hoping the altitudes of this defiant heart
sentenced with those terminal emotions
will withstand the quicksand of these notions
and feel for this life
with such beautiful rhythm –
you were fireworks, brilliant sparks, blinding me so beautifully
showing my solitary shadow walking along the saddest moonlight
can my falling heart ever find its way back to its peaceful prior existence?
always soaring sky high but forever falling into you
sleepless nights till my hearts’ winter ends
I’m missing our soul and it’s showing
